Identify the door before the repair.
Different machines, different service calls — even when they share a dock position.
Look from a safe, normal operating position. Hinged panels that travel up and back describe a sectional overhead door. Narrow metal slats that wind around a barrel above the opening describe rolling steel. A fast-moving fabric curtain or high-cycle rigid system belongs with high-speed doors. A visible fire label changes the request: identify the assembly as fire-rated, even if it looks like an ordinary rolling curtain.
A leveler problem, a door problem, and a restraint problem are three different service calls even when they share a dock position. Controls may connect them, so mention the whole sequence without assuming the door is the original cause. Do not bypass an interlock to discover which component is responsible.
A pit-mounted platform bridges the trailer gap. Use this page for lift, lip, drift, hydraulic, mechanical, air-powered or vertical-storing leveler problems.
Portable boards and dock-edge units differ from pit levelers. Identify the device, load rating, condition and trailer interface before discussing repair or replacement.

A fire label changes the decision to testing, closure and records. Request assembly-specific inspection, drop testing or repair with the applicable authority involved.
Use the dock position or door number. Say whether the platform moves, the lip reaches the trailer, the curtain travels, or the restraint shows an unexpected light. Read a data plate only from a safe position. A collision or power interruption is useful context, not a diagnosis.
Portable bridging requires a different selection decision from a pit leveler. Cold-storage requests may involve both a specialized door and the trailer seal. Name each affected assembly; the provider confirms compatibility and capability.
